Brown To Livestream Hamas Defense Lawyer on September 16
Brown’s Center for Middle East “Studies” Thinks Hamas Defender And Apologist And Renowned Jew-Hater Francesca Albanese Has Something Worthwhile to Say - Now Hear From the Horse’s Mouth
Amazingly enough, lawyer Francesca Albanese is still scheduled to speak at Brown on Monday. (Her Brooklyn College talk scheduled for tomorrow was cancelled supposedly due to a “leaky roof”.) Albanese’s Brown topic is “The Anatomy of a Genocide - A Failure of the International System?”. Her qualification to speak on the topic is presumably her job title as “UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories”. It has been well documented by, e.g., UN Watch and others, that Albanese believes her job title gives her the right to excuse away the barbarism of Hamas, ignore the law, make up “facts”, further distort already bogus data made up by Hamas, support - and through her conduct - underwrite Islamic terrorism, lie with impunity about Israel, traffic in blood libels about Jews and sell the “Israeli genocide” gibberish in the same way that jihadists sell The Protocols of the Elders of Zion as history as opposed to the hoax that it is. Since last October 7, Albanese’s words and conduct have been even more unfounded and unhinged than usual. See report of the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (“CAMERA”) attached below.
As previously noted, Albanese has garnered such difficult to achieve “honors” as being deemed by the US State Department as antisemitic and having been condemned by the governments of France and Germany for her post-October 7 anti-Semitism; she currently is under investigation by her bosses for, among other things, funneling a speakers fee she was not entitled to (for speaking to Hamas-supporting students at Columbia) through her assistant to some unnamed “research institute”. Albanese using her an assistant as a bagman is classic - it’s old-school money laundering used by corrupt politicians around the world. She’s also being investigated by the UN, according to UN Watch, for having “illegally accepted funding from pro-Hamas groups to fund an estimated $20,000 trip to Australia and New Zealand in which she lobbied a major pension fund to divest from Israel.”
While Albanese fiddles with Israel and is alleged to be lining her pockets while doing so, innocents in Sudan, Afghanistan, much of Christian Africa, Syria and the Uyghurs in China, and in many other spots around the world, burn. For Albanese, her UN bosses and brainwashed Brown students and faculty, the Sudanese, Afghanis, Christians in Africa, innocent Syrians and the Uyghurs count for nothing - all that matters is pushing false narratives about Israel.
On September 13, Brown President Paxson wrote to Brown Alumni on a wide variety of topics. She noted that “Brown has always been characterized by its principled standards of intellectual openness and respectful discourse.” Giving Albanese a voice, and thereby legitimacy, at Brown cannot possibly be squared with “principled standards of intellectual openness and respectful discourse.”
That Brown, through its Watson Institute and CMES, is giving Albanese a platform is a disgrace. The only good thing about the Albanese embarrassment is that she will be livestreamed on Monday from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm Eastern time. Hopefully thousands will catch her act to see not just who she is, but what Brown, through Watson/CMES, peddles as education. A link to the Albanese performance is attached below.

Thank you for this comment. It exposes the degree to which South Africa, a Hamas ally, is playing the ICJ for fools. But perhaps this time the ICJ may not be taking the bait. Of course to the Hamas supporting students and faculty around the country this will not matter. The law, the facts, thoughtful and rational analyses, indeed thinking to any degree at all, are not part of their toolkits.
Something very curious is afoot. It was reported in the media that South Africa had requested several additional months to gather evidence to support its case for genocide by Israel against the Arabs in Gaza. This application should raise eyebrows.
To great international fanfare, South Africa filed its lawsuit demanding emergency relief and an order a ceasefire in Gaza as Israel was conducting an ongoing genocide. The ICJ was not persuaded that such emergency relief was required and ordered, in effect, that Israel adhere to the Laws of Armed Conflict - something that every high level Western military delegation has confirmed Israel has been following if not exceeding.
Now, with this application, South Africa is conceding that it does not have sufficient evidence to support its blockbuster claim. Because its case was always political and polemical, it will simply soldier on and, when (not if) it loses, it will blame Israel for impeding its investigation, hiding evidence and whatever other fantasy springs to mind.
Oddly, the Israeli press reported two days ago that the ICJ has denied South Africa’s request.

It’s odd because no media outside Israel has reported on what should be a publicly available - and significant - docket entry in a high profile case. It’s also difficult to find on Google without identifying an Israeli media source, so this might be an algorithm issue to boot.
As relevant to Brown, someone needs to ask Albanese how it is that South Africa is having such difficulty proving the very genocide she so casualty claims. Has she not shared her evidence with South Africa or is the claim legally unfounded?
It always seemed to me that the ICJ did not want to touch this case with the proverbial ten foot poll lest it undermine the concept of “genocide” through its obvious politicization.
Should the Israeli media be correct, it will be interesting to see how South Africa tries to salvage things. I suppose it might just fall back on a claim that thanks to South Africa, whose brave court case shined a light on Israel’s malevolent conduct, foiled Israel malevolent plot and thus was a genocide averted.
It goes without saying that college campuses will continue to ring with chants of “genocide” as the charge was never based on facts but was likely meant to trivialize the Shoah.
